However, just one day before the opening of this year's film show, the organizers updated the clothing rules for the main venue Grand Théâtre Lumière. Now anyone wearing a perspective outfit or a large drag skirt dress will not be able to walk on the red carpet.
The dress code section of the official website of Cancheng Film Station reads:For etiquette and decent considerations, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet and any other area of the film festival. Excessively large clothing is not allowed, especially with large tail skirts, to hinder the normal passage of guests and affect the seating arrangement in the theater. The reception team at the Film Festival will be obliged to prohibit anyone who does not comply with these regulations from entering the red carpet.」
“I've spoken to a lot of stylists and they're all so panicked,” said cultural critic Louis Pisano, who is preparing for his trip to Cannes.
