Defender Priscila Ortiz, one of the captains of the Salvadoran team, lamented the lack of friendlies on the FIFA date between May and June.
Last night, the Salvadoran Central Priscila Ortiz paused in her festivities of the tetrampone with Women Alliance to talk about the absence, again, of international friendlies for the blue and white. It is a fact that the Cuscatlecas will not play any game on the next FIFA date, which will begin on May 27 and will end on June 4.
“Women's football in El Salvador has grown in an incredible way and there are the results. Unfortunately we do not have the support we want. We are not asking for much. We are unfortunately to wait. As always, women's football leaves him last,” said Priscila.
“What we have to do is continue focused, work extra apart with our teams, at home it is time to get together again we are going to defend the shirt with love. Thus it happened to us in the past. Eight months without any game, no activity or training and we get together. People realize that we are blue, we really sweat it from the heart,” he added.
Ortiz stressed what she and her colleagues from the select have expressed through Instagram in the past: take advantage of each international window to measure forces before other countries.
“We ask for support and friendlies. The money is because it is. Without friendly we are giving advantage to the rival and we are stagnating. We know the potential we have in the selection in El Salvador. Unfortunately they are not supporting us. It is sad, but so touches. What plays is to strive, sacrifice and continue asking God that in the future they really support how they would have to support,” he said.
“Rolando González (President of the Regularization Committee of the Salvadoran Football Federation) does what is in his hands. We trust God that at some point a different change will come. We have to prepare when that comes. To continue preparing and when they call us, to work because it is the most important,” he added.
When talking about the technical director of the national team, Eric Acuña, Priscila said that “I appreciate it very much. He loves us like his daughters. The teacher is very strict and he has always said that with work things are achieved. If we do not work we will not achieve anything. Very happy and proud I feel to have an incredible selection coaching staff.”
