There was agreement. After the departure of Martín Di Diego, coach of the Independiente Reserve who was set out from his position for not getting the expected results, the club managers agreed to the arrival of a technician to take charge of the team. Carlos Matheu and Eduardo Tuzzio, who were champions of the South American Cup in 2010 by Antonio Mohamed, will take care of the reserve.

The first will be the coach, while the second will meet the role of assistant. In the next few days they will sign contract until December 2026. They must lift a set that could not end among the first eight of their area to qualify for the playoffs in the previous tournament.

Matheu and Tuzzio, who formed the rear of that red that was champion more than a decade ago, had sounded at different stages to occupy that function. Now they will arrive instead of Di Diego, who had stayed with the position in October last year, after the departure of Pedro Damián Monzón.

In the next few days they will sign their contract and be in charge of the preseason to start preparing the team for the second semester of the year. The idea is that both have a conversation with Julio Vaccari to define and agree on the assembly of the reserve squad based on the needs of the first.
