Tonight's 2025 Met Gala is star-studded, and countless A-camera celebrities appear in carefully designed looks – many people even teamed up with designers to create a new work that echoes the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”. However, Lana Del Rey chose a custom-made dress directly from the stretcher, from the 2025 spring “Vertigineux” series designed by Alessandro Michele for Valentino (the series was released in January). Lana Del Rey has always been the designer’s muse.

The long dress she wore was made of black velvet and brown satin, with ornate lace inlaid, a black bow and feathers adorned. The overall look interprets the tailoring theme in a restrained and dramatic way. The nimble upper body is paired with a soft and wrinkled skirt, which is simple and elegant.
This is Lana Del Rey's fourth time attending Met Gala. She last appeared in 2024, wearing an avant-garde dress inspired by the late designer Alexander McQueen’s Autumn and Winter 2006 collection; and as early as 2018, she walked on the red carpet with Michele, who was still the creative director of Gucci, wearing a dreamy look with a sacred heart breastplate and winged headdress. Regardless of the subject, Lana Del Rey always interprets the rules in detail and brings her unique poetry and aesthetics.
