El Salvador's recent 1-1 draw against Surinam in San Salvador left negative consequences in the FIFA ranking.

The FIFA date of June of this year meant two things for El Salvador: its classification undefeated to the third round of the Concacaf Qualifiers towards the 2026 World Cup and with a negative score for the FIFA ranking, according to the Site Change game.

The team led by technical director Hernán Darío Gómez defeated Anguila 0-3, the second worst selection in the world according to the general FIFA table, on June 7, at the Raymond E. Guishard Technical Center. As a prize for the triumph of visitor in the Caribbean, the select added 2.81 points.

With the 2025 Gold Cup group stage, the blue and white will have the opportunity to add points and upload some steps if it achieves positive results against Curacao, Honduras and Canada.
