“Our player Kylian Mbappé presents an acute gastroenteritis picture and has been hospitalized to perform different tests and apply the corresponding treatment,” Real Madrid said in a statement.
Mbappé had been living with a feverish process for days and could not play on Wednesday in the Real Madrid debut at the FIFA Club World Cup against Al Hilal at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The Frenchman had not trained Tuesday in the last session led by Xabi Alonso for the same reason. He had worked with the group in the training of Sunday and Monday in Florida.
“In the last two days he has been bad, with an important viral process. We have to see how he is improving day by day,” Xabi Alonso acknowledged in the press conference after the 1-1 party with the Hilal.
