2025 One of the most eye-catching buildings on the Osaka Expo is the “Big House Root” an circular corridor that serves as an event venue, a main passage, and provides tourists with shade and shelter from the rain. Here, the naturalist architect Wusuke Fujimoto uses the common “Kan” (ぬき) beam structure commonly found in traditional Japanese temples to create a wooden structure with a trail circumference of more than 2 kilometers in a space covering an area of 60,000 square meters. This not only shows the beauty of traditional Japanese architectural craftsmanship, but also responds to the sustainable spirit of the 2025 Osaka Expo. It will also become a pilgrimage site for global architecture fans and designers with the world's largest wooden building posture.

► “Osaka Expo 2025 Osaka” must-see highlights #04 The diverse display of the eight theme halls from “Jellyfish Pavilion” to “Wallless Exhibition Hall”
In order to fully realize the theme of “creating a future society that shines with glory in life”, the 2025 Osaka Expo specially invited biologist Shinichi Fukuoka, animation director Masaji Kawamori, film director Naomi Kawase, playwright Kaoruto Koyama, Hiroshi Ishiguro Ph.D., musician Yuko Nakajima, media artist Luo Heiichi, and professor Yuki Miyata from Keio University to serve as curators. From a diverse perspective, it brings eight theme halls with different styles, such as “life dynamic balance hall”, “life tour adventure”, “Dialogue Theater”, “EARTH MART”, “The Future Hall of Life”, “Life's Playground 'Jellyfish Hall'”, “null²”, and “Better Co-Being” to various styles. People are welcome to explore the future possibilities of different themes.
The most eye-catching first “Life Dynamic Balance Hall” has 320,000 LED bulbs, which show the effect of cell division. It is created by architect Kengo Kuma in combination with traditional thatched craftsmanship, as if entering a Japanese farmer's “EARTH MART”; the “Life's Playground “Jellyfish Hall”” that creates the building with the image of jellyfish as inspiration; the “null²” is covered with a film-like mirror, full of dynamic feeling; and the “Better Co-Being” located in the corner of the venue “Tranquility Forest” and runs the wallless exhibition hall by “SANAA Architects Firm” is an important highlight!
